The purpose of this project is to clearly identify and record cabin and campsite locations in the North Slope Borough for added safety of individuals traveling to these locations, to provide accurate information to oil and gas companies, and to protect the structures that have deeply rooted values to the people of the North Slope.
<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>North Slope Borough (NSB) Planning And Community Services have been collecting Cabins And Platform data since 2006 and as of August 2014 the project was completed. The project has been "Paid for in part with National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska Program funds made available through the State Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Developement" for camps that are with-in the NPR-A. All Cabins and Platforms outside the NPR-A Boundary have been collected by local help and are computor generated by the NSB for the villages of Pt. Hope, Pt Lay, Kaktovik, and Anaktuvuk Pass, therefore they are only approximate.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
